  6. Introduction
  7. ------------
  8. . TCrossTab,TCrossSQL,TCrossReport is a native VCL Delphi component designed
  9.   to display the results of a multi-dimension cross or categorization
  10.   of data contained in a database.
  11.  
  12. . The component, TCrossTab deals with a single database table.
  13.  
  14. . The component TCrossSQL uses a user-defined SQL statement as its data 
  15.   "feed". The user must know how to issue a reasonable SQL in order to 
  16.   get reasonable results.

  18. . The component TCrossReport is the easiest way to generate a quick 
  19.   cross table report.
  20.  
  21. . During run time, TCrossTab/TCrossSQL/TCrossReport permit the use of "drag and drop"
  22.   to change the arrangement of "crossing fields" in order to see different
  23.   views of the results.

  25. . Run time methods and events are provided for customizing crossing
  26.   results, exporting the results, etc.

  46.   copy the sample database 'ectsales.db' to the 'DBDEMOS' directory of your
  47.   delphi environment.

  62.     to an appropriate target directory (usually, ..\delphi\lib).

  64.   . From Delphi's menu, invoke INSTALL COMPONENTS and add the 
  65.     component, CROSSREG.DCU.

  67.   . TCrossTab/TCrossSQL/TCrossReport components will appear on the 
  68.     Crosstab pallet.

  73. Registration
  74. ------------

  76. . The shareware version of TCrossTab/TCrossSQL/TCrossReport is a fully runable 
  77.   version and   is not "crippled" in any way. After installation, the 
  78.   user can use these components freely. Two properties, Serial and 
  79.   Confirm, are provided for each component have to be set in order to make 
  80.   this component works at run time. If user would like to try this
  81.   components at run time, please send a email to pathcorp@use.usit.net
  82.   to get a FREE trial 'Serial and Comfirm' number set.
  83.   For the FREE trial 'Serial and Confirm' number set, a prompt dialog will
  84.   appear when the component is running. Just click the OK button and the
  85.   component will function properly.

  87. . Once the user has fully evaluated this product and is satisfied with 
  88.   the functionality of the components, he/she should order a pair of 
  89.   "Serial and Confirm" numbers for each machine on which the components 
  90.   will be installed. After the user has set the Serial and Confirm 
  91.   properties to the values provided, the dialog  will not be shown at 
  92.   run time.

  100. . The "Serial and Confirm" numbers may not be redistributed. All other
  101.   software can be freely distributed.

  103. . Registered users are entitled to unlimited, royalty-free distribution of 
  104.   all .EXE programs developed with TCrossTab/TCrossSQL/TCrossReport.

  106. Upgrade Policy
  107. ---------------

  109. . The source code of 'TCrossTab/TCrossSQL/TCrossReport' is not currently ready 
  110.   for distribution. Once it becomes available, all registered users will 
  111.   be notified.

  113. . All future minor releases, including bug fixes, minor enhancement, etc.,
  114.   will be free of charge to registered users.

  116. . All future major releases, which include major enhancement features,
  117.   will be made available at a reduced fee to registered users.
